Dave Donald returns to his alma mater for his fourth season as the head coach of the men's golf program at Hiram College. In each of his previous three seasons, the Terriers have become more competitive as a team and two years ago challenged the school record for lowest cumulative team score in winning the Hiram Spring Invitational.
Donald is a 1991 graduate of the College and was a four-year performer on the golf team. He captained the '91 team that won the Ohio Athletic Conference championship. A three-year team captain, Donald also earned All-OAC accolades three times in his career (1988, 1989, and 1991) and finished second at the PAC Championships in '89 and third in '88 (PAC) and '91 (OAC).
Donald is the Director of Golf Instruction at 2Club Golf and Learning Center in Macedonia, Ohio. He has served as the head professional at Sugarbush Golf Course in nearby Garrettsville, Ohio from 1994-2005. He was also previously an assistant coach at Hiram in 1994 and 2002. In 2000, Donald was the head coach of the seventh grade boys basketball team at Garrettsville's James A. Garfield Middle School.
Most recently, Donald participated in two U.S. Open qualifying events in 2002 and 2003. He also played in the 2004 Ohio Open.
Donald was also a member of the Terrier soccer team as an undergrad and received his bachelor's degree from Hiram in secondary physical education.
A native of Lyndonville, New York, Donald currently resides in Garrettsville with his wife Kimberly.
