Bob Wolfe brings 35 years of experience to the position of head football coach. He built and led successful football programs as head coach at Tiffin University, Elyria Catholic High School, Warren Harding High School, Trinity High School, and Notre Dame Cathedral Latin School.At Tiffin University, Wolfe’s teams twice qualified for the NAIA playoffs and were routinely ranked among the top 10 programs nationally. Wolfe was recognized as the NAIA District 22 Coach of the Year twice. He is a member of the Tiffin University Hall of Fame. He also was the head football coach at Allegheny College when the institution moved from the Presidents’ Athletic Conference to the North Coast Athletic Conference.
At the high school level, Wolfe led Trinity and Notre Dame Cathedral Latin to league championships. He also posted winning records at Warren Harding and Elyria Catholic. His collegiate coaching experience includes serving as the defensive coordinator at Bowling Green State University when the Falcons were perennial contenders for the Mid-American Conference Championship, at Austin Peay State University, and at Mesabi Range Community College in Virginia, Minn. Wolfe also has had successful stops at Youngstown State University and the University of Cincinnati. He joined the Hiram staff three years ago as defensive coordinator and was instrumental in bringing in the largest group of football recruits in the institution’s history.
“Bob is a proven winner,” said Hiram College Athletic Director Tom Mulligan. “He has built successful programs at both the high school and collegiate levels. His 35-plus years of experience, much of it in Northeast Ohio, gives him a tremendous advantage in recruiting. We’re confident he can take our program to a higher level.”
A native of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Wolfe comes from a family heavily associated with the game of football. His father, Fenton, was the longtime head football coach at Bellevue High School and Upper Sandusky High School.
Wolfe earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green and completed his master’s degree in athletic administration at Ball State University. He and his wife, Karen, reside in Chagrin Falls and have two grown children.

Assistant Coach J.P. Emond

J.P. Emond will begin his second season at Hiram in 2008
and will is the defensive coordinator in addition to being the strength and conditioning coordinator and the video editing coordinator.
Prior to coming to Hiram, Emond
spent the past two years in the Richmond Heights School District as an
educational aide and special-teams coordinator and head junior varsity
football coach at Richmond Heights High School. He also spent time at
Cuyahoga Community College where he served as a "Academic Coach" as a member of P.A.S.S. (Pathways to Achieve Student Success) helping high school students develop
skills in preparation for attending college and worked with high school
teachers in technology training. Emond has been an active member in
education as a substitute teacher at Fairport Harding High School and
the Kirtland Local School District. In addition to teaching students
in the classroom, Emond has also served as a teacher on the football
field. Prior to his position at Richmond Heights, he served as an
assistant varsity football coach at Mayfield High School during the
2003 season. Emond's coaching resume also includes stops at Notre Dame
Cathedral Latin as a defensive coordinator (1998-2003) and a junior
varsity head coach at St. Edward High School (1993-98).
Emond earned a business administration degree in economics from Cleveland State in
the winter of 1995. He later went to earn a post baccalaureate degree
in history and education while attending Lake Erie College in 2004. In
addition, Emond completed his Ohio Teaching Liscense in 2005 from Notre
Dame College. He also became certified in the B.F.S (Bigger-Faster-Stronger) strength and conditioning program in April of 2006.
As a player, Emond was a walk-on at Bowling Green State University where he was coached by current Hiram College head football coach Bob Wolfe. In high school, he was a member of a team that finished as state champion runner-up.
Emond currently resides in Concord, Ohio with his wife, Patricia, and
his three children, James, Nicole and Michael. Emond's son James,
will be entering his junior year at Hiram in the Fall of 2008.

Travis Everhart enters his second season at Hiram College in 2008 as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach and tenth coaching overall. He will also handle the job of being the recruiting coordinator and director of skills camps.
In his first season at the helm of the offense, Everhart coached a young freshman and sophomore laden unit that set or tied eight different Hiram Offensive records. Total pass attempts in a game (66), total pass receptions in a game (35), completions per game (18.5), interceptions in a season (7) and passing first downs (81). Also, his offensive unit was one pass completion away from tying the school single-season pass reception record with (185). Despite its youth, The Terrier offense also saw a significant reduction in total turnovers from a year ago, giving the ball over to the opponents a total of 11 times in 2007. Hiram’s offensive line also made big strides protecting the Terrier signal callers in 2007 by allowing fewer sacks (2.3) than in previous seasons under Everhart’s tutelage.
Everhart comes to Hiram College from Louisburg College in Louisburg, N.C. where he was the offensive coordinator, coached the quarterbacks and wide receivers and was in charge of heading up the recruiting efforts as the recruiting coordinator during the 2006 season. Everhart has had a vast amount of coaching experience including stops at South Dakota Tech (2005-06) and Tiffin University (2002-03) where he served the run game coordinator and offensive line coach. In addition, he was the tackle and tight ends coach at California University of Pennsylvania (2000-01), was the running backs coach and assistant recruiting coordinator at Capital University (1999) and was the head football coach at Unioto High School in Chillicothe, OH (2004).
Coach Everhart has also had a lot of success coaching on the field as well, tutoring over 20 All Conference lineman, 2 All Region lineman, and 2 All-Americans in his 10 years. Everhart’s offensive lines have paved the way for some very productive offenses. In the two years California University of Pennsylvania, the Vulcan offense was ranked in the top 10 in rushing offense in the nation along with giving up the least amount of quarterback sacks in those two seasons in the P.S.A.C. While at Tiffin University, the Dragons produced over 2,000 yards of rushing offense both seasons and were also ranked nationally in the top 30 for total offense.
Everhart, a native of Frankfort, Ohio, is a 1995 graduate of Adena High School and a 1999 Capital University graduate with a degree in Elementary Education. He also graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a master’s degree in Geography and regional planning. While at Capital, Everhart started four seasons and earned four letters at nose tackle and long snapper. He received the prestigious “Crusader Award” which is given to the player who best represents the characteristics of a champion on and off the field.

Assistant Coach Jim Corrigall

Jim Corrigall will be in his first season as an assistant coach at Hiram in 2008 and will coach the defensive ends.
Corrigall brings a wealth of collegiate coaching experience to the Terrier program with positions held at the University of Akron, North Carolina State University, Miami (Ohio) University and Kent State University, including serving as head coach of the Golden Flashes from 1994-97. In addition, Corrigall was an assistant at Mount Union College during the 1998 season and helped coach the Purple Raiders to a NCAA Division III National Title.
Corrigall is a 1970 graduate of Kent State University where he was a three-time All-Mid-American Conference and All-American linebacker/defensive tackle and was drafted in the second round by the NFL St. Louis Cardinals. He became the first player at KSU to have his jersey number retired and is a member of the KSU Athletic Hall of Fame.
He went on to play for 12 seasons as a member of the Canadian Football League Toronto Argonauts (1970-81) where he was the 1970 Rookie of the Year. He was also a four-time CFL All-Pro, seven-time CFL All-Eastern Conference, 1975 CFL Defensive Player of the Year and was elected to the CFL Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
Away from the football field, Corrigall has spent much of his time as a teacher within the Ravenna and Akron School Systems and outside the United States in Toronto and Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
Corrigall currently resides in Ravenna with his wife, Mary Elizabeth. They have two grown children, Amy and James, and have five grandchildren.

Assistant Coach Ryan David

Ryan David will begin his second season with the football program in 2008 as a part-time coach and will help out
with the defensive backs. David is a 1995 graduate of Thiel (Pa.) College with a
Bachelor's degree in business administration. Prior to coming to Hiram, David
was a defensive backfield coach at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School in
Chardon, Ohio. He was also the co-head coach of the NDCL junior varsity football
team.
As a student at Thiel, David was an accomplished football player. He was a
two-time All-Presidents' Athletic Conference, two-time Division III All-American
selection as a free safety and was selected to play in the 2006 National Coaches
All-Star game. Following his collegiate career, David received offers to workout
for numerous professional football teams including the Carolina Panthers,
Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals and the Oakland
Raiders. He was rated as the 18th best safety entering the 1996 NFL draft by the
Dave T. Thomas Draft Publications.
David currently resides in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Assistant Coach Michael Glodowski

Michael J. Glodowski will be in his third season as member of the Terrier coaching staff in 2008 and his 30th year overall as a football coach. He will coach the defensive line and will also serve as special teams coordinator as well as head junior varsity coach.
Glodowski earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics and education from Westminster (Pa.) College (1979 graduate) and then went on to attend graduate school at Kent State University and Walsh University.
In addition to coaching football at Hiram College, Glodowski is also a teacher to at-risk students in Mayfield City School District, where he has been a staff member since 2001. Before that, Glodowski taught mathematics and coached within the Rocky River, Nordonia Hills, and Richmond Heights school districts. He is also a college mathematics instructor at Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern campus, since the spring of 2004.
Glodowski has spent time as a coach in football, basketball, softball, track, and as a weight lifting trainer. Most recently as an assistant football coach at Mayfield High School, he served as the Special Teams Coordinator and defensive line coach (2000-03). The last six years, he as been an assistant girls track coach in the shot put and discus. Glodowski has coached football at Kirtland High School and Willoughby South High School, as well.
Coach Glodowski is a two-time Lake County News-Herald "Coach-of-the-Year" (1997 and 1998) award winner as the Head Football Coach at Richmond Heights High School. Also during his tenure at Richmond Heights, he was a CBS Channel 19 Cleveland Browns Football "Coach-of-the-Week" recipient. Glodowski has the most wins as the Head Football Coach and longest tenured football coach in Richmond Heights High School school history.
As a member of the Westminster College football team, Glodowski played center for the Titans and helped the team win two National Championships in 1976 and 1977 (N.A.I.A. Division II).
Glodowski currently lives in Eastlake with his wife Patty and daughter Cheryl. There son, Timothy, will be a sophomore at Hiram College in the fall of 2007 and is a valuable member of the football team as an offensive lineman.

Assistant Coach Brian Hudson

Brian Hudson will be in his first season as a member of the football coaching staff in 2008 and will serve as the wide receivers coach.
Hudson brings both prior coaching and playing experience to the Terrier program. In high school, he was a three-year letterwinner in football and basketball at Warren G. Harding High School, earning first-team All-Conference in both sports, and was a Trumbull County Defensive Player of the Year. He went on to play semi-pro football with the Colorado Springs Flames.
Following his playing days, Hudson returned to Harding High School where he served as freshman head coach in 2005-06 and an assistant coach with the varsity squad in 2006-07. Prior to coming to Hiram, Hudson was an assistant varsity coach at Niles McKinley High School.
Hudson currently resides in Youngstown.

Assistant Coach Charles Johnson

Charles Johnson joined the Hiram football coaching staff prior to the 2008 season and will be in charge of the defensive backs.
Johnson attended Ohio Wesleyan University from 1992-96 where he played three years of football and earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in 1995 as a defensive back. He later played semi-pro football in 2003-04 and had the opportunity to try out with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
Johnson is a 1992 graduate of South Point High School where he was a four-sport athlete and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and fitness from Cleveland State University.
Johnson currently resides in Cleveland Heights.

Assistant Head Coach James Lawrence

James Lawrence will start his second season as a member of the Hiram coaching
staff in 2008. He is a 1971 graduate of the
University of Boston with a degree in physical education. Lawrence brings a vast
coaching experience including being the running backs and linebacker caoch for
the past 10 seasons at Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio.
His coaching resume
also includes stops at Firestone High School (1995), North High School
(1990-94), Ellet High School (1987-89), Tiffin University (1985-86), Central
Hower High School (1983-85) and Dunbar High School in Chicago, Ill. (1975-78).
During his coaching career, Lawrence has coached eight "All-State" running
backs, all of whom rushed for over 1,000 yards each season. He also participated
in three city title games and won two as a high school coach.
As a player,
Lawrence was a member of the National Football League Washington Redskins
(1970-72) and the Denver Broncos (1972-74).
Lawrence currently resides in Akron, Ohio.

Assistant Coach Doug Miller

Doug Miller joins the Hiram coaching staff in 2008 and will coach the offensive line. He is a graduate of The Citadel where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and was a member of the football, wrestling and rugby teams.
Miller comes to Hiram from a previous football coaching position at Niles High School. He has also coached football at Warren G. Harding High School and within the Atlanta (Ga.) City School District.
Miller currently resides Warren with his wife Sharon. They have two children, Sean and Brenna.

Assistant Coach Matt Schmittel

Matt Schmittel begins his second season as an assistant coach in 2008 and will work with the quarterbacks.
He is a 1996 graduate of Miami (Ohio) University with a degree in secondary
education. He went on to earn a Master's degree in Arts in Teaching from Miami
in 2001. Schmittel has spent the past three seasons at Streetsboro High School
where he has served as the offensive coordinator and coached the running backs
and defensive backs. He played a vital role in turning around a program that
averaged 100 yards per game to over 300 ypg. He was also selected to be the
offensive coordinator for a national all-star bowl hosted by Kent State
University during the summer of 2006.
Prior to his stay at Streetsboro High
School, Schmittel also made stops at powerhouse St. Edward High School (2000-03)
as a running backs coach. During his three seasons at St. Edward, the football
team went 32-7 and was the State Division I runners-up in 2003. Schmittel's
coaching resume also includes stops at Reading High School in Cincinnati
(1997-2000) and got his start in coaching while attending Miami University as a
student assistant (1994-96).
Schmittel currently resides in Aurora, Ohio with his wife, Bethany, and their daughter Hadleigh.

A 13-year veteran on the Hiram coaching staff, Mike Soltis will once again lend his expertise coaching kickers to the Terriers in 2008.
A 1977 graduate of the College, Soltis holds the school, single-game record for made PAT's with seven.
Soltis began his coaching career as an assistant varsity coach at Cardinal High School (1977-92) where he coached the kickers, punters and wide receivers before returning to his alma mater in 1995.
Soltis, his wife, Jane, and daughter, Margaret, reside in Parkman, Ohio.

Assistant Coach Billy Terry

Billy Terry will begin his first season with the Hiram football coaching staff in 2008 and will coach the running backs.
Terry has had previous coaching experience within the Hiram Athletic Department as a volunteer assistant baseball coach in 2007-08.
Terry is a graduate of Ravenna High School where he was a four-year letterwinner in both football and baseball and is currently working on a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University.
Terry currently resides in Ravenna.
