Earl Kissell enters his seventh season as the head coach of the men's and women's cross country program at Hiram College in 2011.
Kissell is a 1971 graduate of Xavier University, where he majored in accounting. He also holds a masters of accountancy from Bowling Green State University (1972) and received his CPA license in 1974.
Kissell is an asociate professor of accounting and financial management at Hiram College, since 2000. He began his teaching career at Hiram in 1988 through the weekend college. Prior to teaching full time, Kissell spent over 35 years in public accounting and industry having spent ten years as the President and CEO of Ravenna Savings Bank prior to joining Hiram.
Kissell is an avid and experienced marathon runner. He has completed 30 marathons, including five Boston Marathons. Additionally, he competes in various road races throughout the country.
"Our program philosophy is to train hard and enjoy running," said Kissell. "My goal is to ensure our student-athletes have a very positive experience so they will continue to enjoy the health benefits of running well after their collegiate athletic years."
Kissell and his wife of 38 years, Bonnie, reside in Garrettsville, Ohio. They have six children and 15 grandchildren..
