Transferring to Hiram
Each year Hiram College welcomes transfer students from accredited two- and four-year institutions for the fall and the spring semesters.
Hiram's small academic village environment, emphasis on hands-on learning, range of off-campus study opportunities, and The Hiram Plan—Hiram's distinct academic calendar—combine to offer the best possible transition, education, and college experience for students coming from other institutions.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Hiram awards scholarships to transfer students on the basis of academic excellence at the collegiate level. Eligible students may receive transfer merit scholarships renewable for up to three years. Members of Phi Theta Kappa may receive a special scholarship in honor of this distinction. Transfer students are also eligible for many of Hiram's circumstantial awards.
All new students are considered for need-based financial aid on an equal basis. Transfer students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and include Hiram's code (003049) so the information is sent directly to the College.
Transfer Orientation and Scheduling Classes
Transfer students are invited to campus for an orientation program prior to the beginning of the semester in which they enroll. The program includes academic instruction and social events to acclimate new students to the College. Registration for courses occurs during the orientation program. To further familiarize students to College services, Hiram conducts a 1-credit hour "Successful Transitions" course each semester for all incoming transfer students.
Transfer Student Resources
Even before admission, you can view equivalencies already in place through the Transfer Evaluation System, or you can visit Transferology which contains information about if/how courses will transfer to Hiram College. Hiram College will also evaluate transcripts from any institution(s) you attended. You will be notified in writing about how your previous courses apply to your Hiram degree.
