Kate Brown, Admission Counselor
• I studied abroad in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. • While in Uganda, I rafted the Nile and while in Tanzania I spent a week living with the last full-time hunter-gatherer tribe in the world. • I am the fourth member of my family to have studied in Kenya, and the fourth member of my family to have attended St. Lawrence University.

Who do you look up to the most?
My brother has always been a hero of mine. He is one of the smartest and most driven people I have met and he has done some pretty amazing things. Having spent so much time studying about Kenya and living there, I also look up to Wangari Maathai, the founder of the Green Belt movement and first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
What is your favorite thing about Hiram?
It's About People. Though I am new here, I already feel like part of the Hiram family. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly and there is definitely a place for everyone.
