Hiram College

Camps and Programming for Kids

Hiram College's James H. Barrow Field Station is home to nature education programming and summer camps for kids. Special events and programming are held throughout the fall and spring. Each summer, Field Station staff, students and Hiram faculty conduct summer camps for kids of all ages.

Weeklong Nature Camps

Spring classes will soon be announced. Until then, take a look at some of our prior courses.

Bring your senses (and an adult) as we explore nature as young children see it…new and exciting.

Half-Day Hikers

A variety of sensory and creative explorations in nature.

Nature Explorers

Explore the slimy, smelly, wet and dirty parts of ecosystems as you hike, crawl, wade and slog through forests, fields, ponds and streams.

Butterfly Hill Gardening Camp

Children ages 6-12 will plant and maintain their own flower and vegetable plots during this 10-week gardening camp. The plots will be located at the James H. Barrow Field Station’s Butterfly Hill Garden.
