Science and Technology Academies
BioBlitz programs are designed for 14-17 year olds to be immersed in a specific topic for nearly round-the-clock intensive field studies, data collection and information-gathering. Students will discover the science behind interesting animals, plants and habitats, and explore why they are important to our environment. Hiram College scientists and science students will provide information and help train BioBlitzers in proper field techniques. Participants will camp overnight at the Field Station and supper, breakfast and lunch are provided.
Moths and Butterflies - July 30-31, 2015
During daylight hours, BioBlitzers will collect and identify butterflies in the fields around the Hiram Field Station. Under the summer night sky, we will stay up late to attract, trap and identify nocturnal moths.
