Garfield Center for Public Leadership: Crisis Simulation Exercise - Middle East Meltdown

June 22-25, 2016 (Residential)

Age:  Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors

Cost:  $325

The Exercise offers a truly unique opportunity for students to engage in a crisis simulation with individuals who have spent careers in the U.S. Department of State, Department of Defense, and other areas of government.  The students will be divided into groups, with each group representing either a branch of the U.S. government, a government agency, another government, or an international organization.  These groups will then interact strategically with each other -- under the guidance of the government professionals -- as they respond to an international political crisis.

Hiram College will award a $1,000 Summer Academy Scholarship to every high school student who attends a 2016 summer academy and enrolls as a full time student at Hiram College. Only one Summer Academy Scholarship will be awarded per new student. The scholarship is renewable up to four years. (For a total of $4,000 in scholarship award at $1,000 per year for four years.)
