High School Leadership: Lead-Connect-Achieve
Dates: July 10-16, 2016
What is it?
The Lead-Connect-Achieve program is a nature adventure at Hiram College’s Northwoods Field Station in the remote wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The program is designed to inspire young men and women to develop leadership skills, connect with nature, and achieve individual and group goals. Instruction is provided by skilled Hiram College staff, faculty and students to ensure that students have positive, meaningful experiences. This program is for motivated 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who have an interest in nature adventure. We are seeking applicants with a clear sense of how the Lead-Connect-Achieve program will benefit them as they prepare for college. Outdoor experience is not required, but participants should be capable of hiking up to 8-10 miles in a day and have at least novice swimming experience. Students will stay in cabins and tents.
$570, includes meals, lodging, transportation, instruction, and all activities
Hiram College will award a $1,000 Summer Academy Scholarship to every high school student who attends a 2016 summer academy and enrolls as a full time student at Hiram College. The scholarship is renewable each year for up to four years. Only one Summer Academy Scholarship will be awarded per new student.
