Garfield Crisis Simulation - June 21-24, 2017
What is it?
This four-day residential crisis simulation on the Hiram College campus lets students take on the role of U.S. government agencies, foreign governments and international organizations, to learn about problems and talk through solutions.
Guided by career members of the U.S. armed forces, teams of students will react to the others’ moves in real time as part of this hands-on learning exercise.
This Year's Theme
Showdown in the South China Sea
The United States and China are competing for strategic dominance in Asia, and the South China Sea has become the primary focus for that competition. In this crisis simulation, students and their mentors will explore the ways in which the US-China interplay might unfold, so as to determine which side will come out on top, and whether war can be avoided in the process.
$350, including room and board.
