After Hiram – Writing Minor

A writing minor combines nicely with a variety of majors to allow students to focus on particular writing styles or utilize the minor as an outlet for creative expression.

Hiram College writing students are impressively prepared for a variety of rewarding careers. Two-thirds of salaried employees must regularly write as part of their jobs, yet corporations in the survey complained that workers, particularly recent college graduates, were astoundingly unprepared for the writing they were required to do. Clearly the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively are part of a Hiram “education that works.”

Hiram graduates may seek work as a writer on a self-employed freelance basis or may look for opportunities with a variety of employers. Some of our recent graduates have found successful careers as:
