CPA preparation: 4 + 1

Hiram's accounting majors are some of the best and the brightest. For students interested in becoming Certified Public Accountants, Hiram offers a distinctive program to ensure that state requirements for CPA certification are fulfilled.

Building toward your future

Students who elect to sit for the CPA Exam in Ohio are required to have completed 150 semester hours of college credit. To meet this requirement, Hiram offers a 4 + 1 program with accredited Master of Accountancy programs at selected universities. Currently Hiram has articulation agreements with Case Western Reserve University, Bowling Green State University and Ohio Northern University.

Through the 4 + 1 program, students complete a four-year undergraduate program and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and financial management from Hiram College. Qualified students are then admitted to the Master of Accountancy programs offered by the selected universities. After an additional year of study, students receive a Master of Accountancy degree and are eligible to sit for the CPA Exam.
