TESTING ASSISTANCE

We offer testing assistance through the Student Academic Support office to assist students with testing accommodations through Disability Services and faculty. Students who receive testing accommodations through Disability Services can arrange a time for a test or quiz to be taken, be it for extended time or a distraction free testing environment. The Testing Center is available during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and we ask that those requesting the use of the Testing Center reach out at least 3-5 days ahead of the scheduled exam time to ensure we have staff available to proctor.

Learn more about Hiram College’s Testing Center on our website. Faculty and students can also request use of the Testing Center by completing our Testing Center Referral Form

All first-time students on academic probation are recommended to take the Tools for Academic Success course. This course is designed to offer academic success skills that can be directly implemented into other courses a student is taking. Students will refine their abilities to develop study strategies and time management plans, which they will analyze and execute in their other courses. The course will also focus on the process of self-efficacy in learning goals as well as collaborative, student-centered models of learning.
