The Northwoods Experience
Begin your Hiram Adventure here! Hiram College’s Northwoods Field Station and the surrounding beauty of northern Michigan’s remote wilderness provide a magnificent setting to begin your own Hiram experience. The Northwoods Experience is an opportunity for incoming Hiram College students to have a wilderness experience and build a sense of community with a select group of classmates.
The Northwoods Experience is a five-day adventure at Hiram’s Hiawatha Campus in northern Michigan. The goal is to enjoy the beauty of nature and build a sense of community with your future classmates. It begins with an evening cookout for you and your family at Hiram College. Early the next morning the group will set out for Northwoods. During our stay, we will be immersed in the vast wilderness in and around the College’s rustic camp and take day trips to stunning sandstone cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and other fascinating natural and historic areas. Be prepared for long hikes, canoeing, kayaking and exploring the outdoors!
